Blogging

There don't seem to be many political bloggers in the Crown Dependencies and this has always been surprising. Mostly the participants - and many are regulars in Jersey - just want to snipe without trying to build sustained campaigns.
Each to his or her own of course but it is always difficult to know what the target audience might be and what result is anticipated or hoped for.
It would certainly be helpful if the "government" made greater efforts to afford a warmer welcome to "bloggers" with details of future events etc and press releases and it would be useful to be invited to press briefings - but at the same time bloggers have to be careful not to be seduced into the cosy club alongside the "accredited media".
Unfortunately the more information that becomes available the more difficult it becomes to understand it or analyse what it means. This was always the case when the "Times" newspaper hit the breakfast table to be digested with the boiled eggs but for many the information tended to be swallowed without too much question. There is now scope for alternative viewpoints to be served up but most people retain an allegiance to a few sources of information - if any.

I would have said the opposite. How many political bloggers are there in the UK, compared to the 34.3 million working population? If we have maybe 5 in working population of around 50,000, that would mean 3,400 for the UK. I don't think there are that many.

Any information on numbers of bloggers is difficult to find - most of the information is USA based and out of date.
I don't know whether it is relevant if people are working or not but my little online search has revealed how very little I/we understand about this activity....
I suppose this link won't ;
