Senatorial Candidate - Nick Le Cornu.

After being approached on a number of occasions by people, for one reason or another, who are not happy with the coverage of the Senatorial by-election from the “accredited” media - and have asked Team Voice to do more - we have responded.

In particular we have been approached by the youth who have friends at university who follow the Blog Sphere but don’t get to see much of the mainstream media (msm) and would like to know more about the candidates.

Team Voice is now offering ALL candidates up to five minutes air-time to put their message across to the online community and engage with a wider audience in the hope this might encourage people to the Ballot Box, and give the electorate a more informed choice of who to vote for.

Candidate Nick Le Cornu is the first up.

Very good indeed. My vote is supposed to be committed to another candidate, but when I am in the polling booth with a solemn duty to pick the best man for the job, I shall remember this.

My vote too is committed and indeed I will not be changing my mind.

However, on Mr Le Cornu's showing so far in the hustings, if he chooses to stand next year for Deputy or Senator, I would certainly consider him for my vote.

This is excellent. On previous occasions other media have done a brief spot for candidates, online or in print, and I was upset they hadn't this time. Well done for filling the gap.

Thank you to Team Voice for offering this Service to students and I commend you. However the reality is that they don't give a hoot about Politics in the Island. They are too busy studying or socialising to even care. This is because they have never had any tuition on Politics in school. This needs to be addressed soon.Camelia.

I agree our schools and mainstream "accredited" media have done a good job of keeping students dis-engaged and ignorant of local politics.

However since Bloggers have come on the scene they are now starting to be engaged and show an interest. Indeed it was only due to the amount of youngsters/students that asked me to do more concerning this by-election that I have.

Well done VFC, impartial, as always.

Frankly, I think Nick is the best man for the job.

Awful. Having been to several of the hustings definitely no, no, no! I will never vote for anyone who is a homophobe. Someone joked about another candidate being rude, Nick Le Cornu is rudeness personified and arrogant with it. All irrelevant really because this plonker hasn't got a hope in hell.

Nick Le Cornu is a left wing anarchist, does not have a grip for the people at all.

Read your blog, have you nothing better to do than worry about than if you can take your mobile phone to the public gallery?
You say you text while you are there, I understand that you are not suppose to have them on at all. Check with the Balllif.
